SET® Enables Planned Completion in the Permian

Summary:

An Operator drilling a well in the Permian Basin was unable to set their intermediate 9-5/8 in. casing at the planned depth of 6,900 ft. inside of the 12-1/4 in. hole due to an unstable formation. An additional casing point was needed across the loss zone due to the anticipated increase in mud weight required to drill the curved lateral section. The Operator required a solution that would extend the shoe of the 9-5/8 in. casing and allow them to drill an extended lateral with 5 in. drill pipe and planned directional tools.
